We didn't give up... but we did hit pause

So after I wrote my "I want to give up" post, we had some additional time for soul searching and then circumstances around our financing changed and we got a clear message that we needed to take a pause on the whole house/move situation.

After all of that unfolded, I had a tremendous sense of peace and a new grateful perspective on our current home.

Both Matt and I are still very much aligned on our goals around "Pursuing the Simple Life" but we need to make changes in the right time for us and our family.

Finances, changing real estate market and real concerns over the new home we were planning to buy all culminated in a very clear STOP message that I'm so thankful we listened and responded to.

We also had an incredible team of real estate and finance professionals (who we are blessed to call friends) supporting us through this process. The listened to us, comforted us, provided guidance and ultimately supported this decision.

We will continue to re-evaluate timing and our financial situation and see when the best time to make a move will be. Both Matt and I know that a move will be in our future at some point, but listening and responding to the appropriate "when" will be key.

Sometimes it's easier to continue to barrel down a path that you're on, ignore your gut feelings and stay the course. But what we are learning, is that it is possible to still believe in the end-game, but you need to be flexible at times and willing to adjust your path along the way.

So bottom line, is our house off the market now? Yes, it is. Are we staying put for the meantime? Yes, we are.

Now on to seeing how we can still live out our mission, within our current environment... stay tuned!
